The existing USU building was a 3-story building that was over 40 years old. Many of its existing lighting and HVAC components reflected its age. The project involved upgrading existing lighting fixtures with retrofit LED lighting as well as lighting controls. HVAC elements were upgraded, including VAV fans, control dampers, duct cleaning throughout the entire building, adding a new fan wall system to both Air Handling Units, as well as UV light bars to filter the supply air. Additionally, the project renovated an existing men’s and women’s restroom to become a singular gender-neutral restroom and included an adjacent foot washing area for religious accommodations. This became the first multi-person gender-neutral restroom on campus.
